Anthophorula (Anthophorula) persephone was named by Engel (2012). Its type specimen is AMNH DR-KL1, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (AMNH coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
