Taxonomy
Nothofagidites fuegiensis was named by Menéndez and Caccavari (1975). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BAPB Prep. pal. N° 506, a non-seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts.

Colpos en número de 5 (6) 7 con una profundidad de 2.3 (3.31) 4.6 µ y un engrosamiento de 0.6 (0.64) 0.8 µ. La exina con un espesor de 0.6 (0.65) 0.8 µ, se presenta cubierta de espinas con un diámetro basal de aproximadamente 0.6 µ en el polo y 0.4 µ en el ecuador, y una densidad de 24 (36.76) 42.5 en 100 µ².
