Taxonomy
Dendrorhynchoides mutoudengensis was named by Lü and Hone (2012). Its type specimen is JZMP-04-07-03; originally GLGMV 0002, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mutoudeng, which is in a Bathonian/Kimmeridgian lacustrine shale in the Tiaojishan Formation of China.
