Remarks. Sankofa pyrenaica oogen. nov. oosp. nov. differs from Troodon (Prismatoolithus levis Zelenitsky and Hills 1996) eggs and eggshells by having a less elongated, more asymmetric egg shape, thinner eggshells and a different ultrastructural pattern.

Taxonomy
Sankofa pyrenaica was named by López-Martínez and Vicens (2012). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is UM1, an egg (thin section of an eggshell fragment), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is The Urbanizacion Montsec site, which is in a Campanian/Maastrichtian lagoonal sandstone/limestone in the Arén Formation of Spain.

Vicens 2012Small-sized, asymmetric ovoid eggs measuring about 7 4 cm, with a smooth eggshell averaging 0.27 mm in thickness, a prismatic eggshell structure with no marked distinction between the mammillary and pali- sade layers, a peculiar prism pattern with a jagged central zone, an incipient squamatic structure and a rather low number of pore openings of variable diameters averaging 15 lm. Eggs sub-vertically oriented in probably two or more layered clutches.
