Taxonomy
Macromischa rugosostriata was named by Mayr (1868). Its type specimen is Konigsberg 218/4297, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber.

It was recombined as Nothomyrmica rugosostriata by Wheeler (1915) and Spahr (1987); it was recombined as Eocenomyrma rugosostriata by Dlussky and Radchenko (2006), Radchenko and Dlussky (2016) and Radchenko and Perkovsky (2018).
