Taxonomy
Kohlsimyrma laticeps was named by Dlussky and Rasnitsyn (2002). Its type specimen is USNM 495879, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Old Mountains, locality 40186, which is in a Bridgerian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Green River Formation of Colorado.
