Taxonomy
Dolichoderus dibolia was named by Wilson (1985). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Florida State Collection of Arthropods), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.

It was corrected as Dolichoderus dibolius by Mackay (1993) and Fernández and Sendoya (2004).
