Taphopone karaganensis
Taxonomy
Ponerites karaganensis was named by Dlussky (1981). Its type specimen is PIN 254/2737, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Vishnevaya Balka creek, outcrop 1 bed 1, Stavropol (PIN collection 254), which is in a Miocene lacustrine shale in the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Taphopone.
It was recombined as Taphopone karaganensis by Dlussky and Perfilieva (2014).
