Paradixa distans was named by Hennig (1966). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Berendt collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.
It was recombined as Dixella distans by Evenhuis (1994) and Greenwalt and Moulton (2016).
