Lonchomyrmex freyeri
Taxonomy
Formica freyeri was named by Heer (1867). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Radoboj (Grätz Collection), which is in a Sarmatian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in Croatia. It is the type species of Lonchomyrmex.
It was recombined as Lonchomyrmex freyeri by Mayr (1867), Scudder (1885) and Dlussky and Putyatina (2014).
