Taxonomy
Arachnidium was named by Hincks (1859) [Sepkoski's age data: J Aale R Sepkoski's reference number: 900]. It is extant. Its type is Arachnidium hippothooides. It is the type genus of Arachnidiidae.

It was assigned to Arachnidiidae by Bassler (1953); and to Ctenostomata by Sepkoski (2002).
