Taxonomy
Aphaenogaster antiqua was named by Dlussky (2002). Its type specimen is ISZK UA-816, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Rovno Amber, Ukryantar factory material (SIZK UA collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Ukraine.
