Jantaropterix was named by Vršanský and Grimaldi (2003). It is not extant.
It was assigned to Umenocoleidae by Vršanský (2003); to Ponopterixidae by Nel et al. (2014); to Dictyoptera by Kirejtshuk et al. (2014); and to Cratovitismidae by Luo et al. (2020).

| P. Vršanský 2003 | Very small species with surface of elytra, head, pronotum and body densely pubescent. Head possibly hypognathous, antenna thin. Legs thin and long, of the average roach appearance (not short and strong). Forewing with monochromatic coloration and venation indistinct (CuP may be exception). Hindwing with rich R1 (sharply curved) and RS, with pterostigma. Cross–veins present, but without numerous reticulations. |
