Katapontisus brodiei
Taxonomy
Elmis brodiei was named by Giebel (1856). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dinton, Vale of Wardour, Middle Purbeck, which is in a Berriasian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Lulworth Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Katapontisus.
It was recombined as Katapontisus brodiei by Handlirsch (1906) and Kirejtshuk et al. (2016).
