Taxonomy
Cretaenne inexpectata was named by Azar et al. (2008). Its type specimen is MNHN Azar 184, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Mdeyrij-Hammana (LU collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon.
