Taxonomy
Monotis haueri was named by Kittl (1912). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Specimen No. 1902 VII, Vienna Natural History Museum. Its type locality is Rossmoos, grauem Marmor, which is in a Sevatian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Monotis (Monotis) haueri by Grant-Mackie (1978), Westermann and Seyed-Emami (1981) and Silberling et al. (1997).
