Taxonomy
Conescharellina was named by d'Orbigny (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Conescharellinidae.

It was assigned to Conescharellinidae by Stach (1936), Bassler (1953), Brown (1956) and Brown (1958); and to Cheilostomata by Sepkoski (2002).
