Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria robusta laevissima was named by Lindström (1884) [Pleurotomaria robusta var. lævissima Lindström 1884]. It is not extant.

It was recombined as Lophospira robusta laevissima by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Ruedemannia laevissima by Foerste (1914) and Wagner (1999).

M'Coy 1846 (Murchisonia sulcata)Elongate turreted; volutions tumid; obtusely carinated in the middle, where there is a distinct, square, but not very prominent, keel; entire shell spirally sulcated; sulci extremely irregular in size and approximation, crossed by occasional, faint lines of growth both above and below, arched obliquely backwards to the keel, which they meet at a very acute angle.
