Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
E. W. Berry 1929Seed small, sub-circular in profile, flattened on the hilum border, ovate in cross section, that is the upper edge in sharper and the lower edge more rounded. The hilum and raphe form a relatively large trough on the truncated side of the seed. The surface is marked by prominent, sharp, irregular ridges, or perhaps the ornamentation might be better described as consisting of irregular rows of variable closely spaced tubercles. The most nearly complete cast indicates a diameter of about 4.5 millimeters and a maximum thickness of 2.5 millimeters, but fragmentary specimens indicate that some of these seeds were of somewhat larger dimensions.
