Taxonomy
Gerarus teutonicus was named by Brauckmann and Herd (2005). It is an impression. Its type locality is Piesberg quarry, "Flöz Dreibänke" (Museum am Schölerberg collection), which is in a Westphalian D lacustrine deltaic claystone in the Flöz Dreibänke Formation of Germany.
