Magdalenabradys confusum

Taxonomy

Pseudoprepotherium confusum was named by Hirschfeld (1985). Its type specimen is UCMP 39957, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ferruginous Sandstone Locality, UCMP V5045, which is in a Laventan terrestrial sandstone in the Villavieja Formation of Colombia. It is the type species of Magdalenabradys.

It was recombined as Magdalenabradys confusum by Rincón and McDonald (2020).

Hirschfeld 1985	Femur larger than P. venezuelanum, exhibits strong anteroposterior flattening; broad lateral extent of shaft; well marked digital fossa; well developed thrid trochanter; longitudinal rigdes on anterior surface; external and internal condyles broadly connected to relatively narrow trochlea; intercondylar notch narrow.
