Taxonomy

Gonomyia indecisa was named by Cockerell and Haines (1921). Its type specimen is BMNH I.9087, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Gonomyia (Gonomyia) indecisa by Krzemiński (2019).

Synonyms

Gonomyia ferrea was named by Cockerell (1921). Its type specimen is Hooley H.835, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Hooley coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Gonomyia (Gonomyia) indecisa by Krzemiński (2019).
Gonomyia lutescens was named by Cockerell (1921). Its type specimen is BMNH I.9217, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Gonomyia (Gonomyia) indecisa by Krzemiński (2019).
