L. M. Anzótegui 1998 | Leaves with entire lamina, 2.5-5 cm. long x 1.8-2.3 cm. wide; obovate to elliptic; apex acute to roundly crenate; base acute to cuneate, slightly crenate and asymmetrical; margins crenate from 1/3 of the base always with angular sinuses; these projections are regulary arranged. Surface rugulate on both faces, hairs on one of them. Petiole absent. Pinnate venation simply craspedodromous. Primary veins straight, relative thickness moderate (2-2.3%); secondary veins straight, 5 to 7 alternate, opposite to subopposite pairs, with moderate divergence angle (45°-70°); generally divided twice before reaching margin; the first division half way. Branching of secondary veins ending at marginal crenes and sinuses. The first and second pairs of secondary veins are simple, short and straight, undividing. Intersecondary veins present in the majority of intercostal areas, simple. Tertiary veins are a ramified transverse pattern, divergence angle obtuse-obtuse (100°) to obtuse straight (90°-100°).
