It was assigned to Exochellinae by Canu and Bassler (1935); to Cheilostomata by Sepkoski (2002); to Exochellidae by Brown (1952), Bassler (1953), Brown (1956), Brown (1958), Pouyet (2000) and Bock (2006); and to Romancheinidae by Lee et al. (1997), Gordon and Taylor (1999), Schmidt (2003), Berning (2006), Guha and Gopikrishna (2007) and Guha (2013).
