Silvius merychippi

Taxonomy
Tabanus merychippi was named by Cockerell (1916). Its type specimen is USNM 61993, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (Wilson coll), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was recombined as Silvius merychippi by Melander (1946).
