Euphorbiotheca was named by Reid and Chandler (1933). It is not extant. Its type is Euphorbiotheca sheppeyensis.
It was assigned to Phyllanthoideae by Chandler (1962); and to Euphorbiaceae by Reid and Chandler (1933), Chandler (1961), Chandler (1963) and Andrews (1970).
