Taxonomy

Cloudina hartmannae was named by Germs (1972). It is not extant. It is the type species of Cloudina.

Synonyms

Nevadatubulus dunfeei was named by Signor and Mount (1987). Its type specimen is UCMP 37537, a shell (tube), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. M-7281, Mount Dunfee locality, which is in an Ediacaran marine limestone in the Deep Spring Formation of Nevada.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cloudina hartmannae by Selly et al. (2020).

P. W. Signor and J. F. Mount 1987 (Nevadatubulus dunfeei)	Small, highly variable annu- lated tubes. Curvature, annular spacing, and final diameter differ among individuals. Where preserved, oldest portion of tubes expands quickly to mature tube diameter, after which further growth is slow. Height of annulae is variable and averages approximately one-tenth of tube diameter.
