Taxonomy
Leptoconops daugeroni was named by Choufani et al. (2011). Its type specimen is MNHN IGR.ARC-182.3, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Charentese amber, Archingeay-Les-Nouillers, subunit A1sl-A, which is in an Albian terrestrial amber in France.
It was recombined as Leptoconops (Leptoconops) daugeroni by Borkent (2013), Szadziewski (2018) and Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
