Taxonomy
Pseudolingula was named by Mickwitz (1909). It is not extant. Its type is Crania quadrata. It is the type genus of Pseudolingulidae.

It was reranked as Lingula (Pseudolingula) by Bassler (1915).

It was assigned to Lingula by Bassler (1915); to Glossellinae by Holmer (1989); to Pseudolingulidae by Holmer (1991) and Williams et al. (2000); and to Lingulida by Sepkoski (2002).
