Taxonomy
Ammonites (Ceratites) brotheus was named by Munster (1834).

It was synonymized subjectively with Trachyceras aon by von Mojsisovics (1882); it was recombined as Brotheotrachyceras brotheus by Mietto and Manfrin (2008).
