Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
Zamaloa 1992Pollen grain free, oblate, isopolar, angulaperturate, spinulate. Arab polygonal, 38 50 um in diameter, sides straight to slightly convex. Apertures 5-9 as narrow gaps 14-23 un long, with v-shaped ends, margins unthickened. Exine thin, about 0.5 un, stratification unresolved. Spinulate sculpture, small conical spinules, about 0.5 um high and 0.4 un in basal diameter, uniformly arranged with high density, slightly protruding past outline of grain in optical section (15 specimens measured). Holotype description: Pollen grain oblate, situated in polar view, isopolar, angulaperturate. Amb polygonal, 44 um in diameter, with straight sides. Apertures comprising 7 longitudinally aligned colpi that extend about 8 lain in average towards each pole; pointed ends, margins unthickened, colpi length/equatorial diameter (l/E) ratio 0.37. Exine about 0.5 um thick, with spinulate sculpture; spinules about 0.5 un high and 0.3 0.4 um in basal diameter and spacing 0.5(0.9)1.8 un apart. Small spinules randomly aligned along apertural margins.
