Discinopsis was named by Hall and Clarke (1892) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm m Sepkoski's reference number: 1]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Craniopsidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Acrotretida by Sepkoski (2002).
