Taxonomy
Dinarites bonaevistae was named by Hyatt and Smith (1905). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Buena Vista Canyon, west of Unionville, West Humboldt Range, which is in an Anisian carbonate limestone in Nevada.

It was recombined as Cuccoceras bonaevistae by Smith (1914) and Silberling and Nichols (1982); it was recombined as Platycuccoceras bonaevistae by Bucher (1988).
