Biretisporites crassilabratus was named by Archangelsky (1972) [Others samples: P.m. 741, coord. 43.1/116.7, 40.1/115.1. Others measurement: equatorial diameter, 39-64 µ. 15 specimens. Locality. Wells D-13, D-14, T-134, C-2, P-9, P-14, P-15.]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: prep. 743 coord. 52.5/118.4. Stored at Museo de La Plata, Paleobotanical division., a microspore (spore), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Pozo D-13, which is in an Eocene coastal horizon in the Río Turbio Formation of Argentina.

S. Archangelsky 1972Espora trilete de contorno ecuatorial subtriangular, de lados convexos y ángulos redondeados. Lesura 4/5 o llegando al ecuador, bordeada por labios fuertemente levantados (hasta 7 µ de alto), que en el ecuador se juntan y son continuos, en forma de semircírculo. Exina de grosor parejo, lisa, de unos 2 µ.
