Podocarpidites psilasaccus was named by Archangelsky and Romero (1974) [Type locality: Cerro Bororó, Las Plumas, Provincia de Chubut, Argentina. Fm. Bororó, Daniano.
Other specimens examinated: LPPBp.m. 1019: 10,8/14,1; id 0,4/15,6; id 25,5/22,9; pm. 1020: 9,9/16,6; 1021: 10,8/9,6; id: 10,8/3,2.]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: LPPBpm. 1019: coord. 1,4/15,6. División Paleobotánica, Museo de La Plata., a seed repro (bisaccate pollen), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Cerro Bororó, which is in a Danian terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
