Nothofagidites dorotensis

Taxonomy
Nothofagidites dorotensis was named by Romero (1973) [Botanical affinity: Fagaceae (Nothofagus (tipo brassii)). Others samples examinated: Preparación 955, coord. 1.3/22.9; coord. 10.2/1.7.Prep. 958, coord. 7.0/0.7.]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Holotype: Preparado 955, coord. 1.9/20.3., a microspore, and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Pozo T-137, nivel 170 m., which is in a Maastrichtian/Paleocene terrestrial claystone in the Cerro Dorotea Formation of Argentina.
