Bomina was named by Korovnik and Ushatinskaya (1994) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto Sepkoski's reference number: 1193]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Botsfordiidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Paterinida by Sepkoski (2002).
