Purussaurus neivensis

Taxonomy
Dinosuchus neivensis was named by Mook (1941) [holotype, craniums, mandibles, isolated teeth and parts of skeletons]. Its type specimen is USNM 10889, a partial skeleton (6 vertebrae, ribs, and parts of maxilla and dentaries), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Between Neiva and the River Bache, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in Colombia.

It was recombined as Brachygnathosuchus neivensis by Stirton (1953); it was recombined as Caiman neivensis by Langston (1965); it was recombined as Purussaurus neivensis by Aguilera et al. (2006) and Riff et al. (2010).
