Taxonomy
Baru darrowi was named by Willis et al. (1990). Its type specimen is NTM P8695-8, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Blast Site, which is in a Miocene terrestrial horizon in the Camfield Beds Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Baru.
