Sibiria was named by Goryanskij (1977) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-l Cm Boto-l Sepkoski's reference number: 522].

It was assigned to Obolellidae by Geyer (1994); to Trematobolidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Obolellida by Bengtson (1992) and Sepkoski (2002).
