Taxonomy
Megaphyllites chiosensis was named by Fantini Sestini (1981). Its type specimen is Mgb767 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Section CM II, 10.5 m, Marathovouno Hill, Chios, which is in an Aegean basinal (carbonate) lime mudstone in Greece.
