Tertremoides madagascariensis

Taxonomy
Trematosaurus madagascariensis was named by Lehman (1966). Its type specimen is MNHN MAE 3039, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mahatsara, which is in an Induan/Smithian deltaic siliciclastic in the Middle Sakamena Formation of Madagascar. It is the type species of Tertremoides.

It was recombined as Tertremoides madagascariensis by Schoch and Milner (2000) and Maganuco and Pasini (2009).

Synonyms
  • Tertremoides ambilobensis was named by Lehman (1979). Its type specimen is MNHN specimen, a partial skull (Mould of skull roof), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Ambilobe, which is in an Induan/Smithian deltaic siliciclastic in the Middle Sakamena Formation of Madagascar.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Tertremoides madagascariensis by Schoch and Milner (2000).
