Lasasaurus beltanae

Taxonomy
Lasasaurus beltanae was named by Falconnet et al. (2012). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.MAE 3039, a skeleton (half of a ferro-calcareous nodule containing the mould of a relatively complete skeleton preserving the skull, mandible, hyoid apparatus, and presacral region), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Ambodipo, which is in an Induan/Smithian deltaic siliciclastic in the Middle Sakamena Formation of Madagascar. It is the type species of Lasasaurus.
