Taxonomy
Rhinesuchus whaitsi was named by Broom (1908). Its type specimen is SAM 1212, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Leeu-Gamka , which is in a Capitanian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
