Taxonomy
Flabellisclera discreta was named by Wu (1991). Its type specimen is xb34-7-3 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Xiangbo reef 34-7, which is in a Wordian reef, buildup or bioherm bafflestone in the Maokou Formation of China.

It was recombined as Radiotrabeculopora discreta by Stearn (2015).
