Taxonomy
Bauneia ampliata was named by Wu (1991). Its type specimen is xb27-7-1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Xiangbo reef 27-7, which is in a Wordian reef, buildup or bioherm framestone in the Maokou Formation of China.
