Taxonomy
Tropiceltites frechi was named by Hyatt and Smith (1905). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bear Mountain, near Sherman's Ranch, which is in a Tuvalian carbonate limestone in the Hosselkus Formation of California.
It was recombined as Metasibirites frechi by Smith (1927).
