Discophyllites patens
Taxonomy
Lytoceras patens was named by von Mojsisovics (1873). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Someraukogel, fleischrother Marmor, which is in a Lacian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria. It is the type species of Discophyllites.
It was recombined as Rhacophyllites (Discophyllites) patens by von Mojsisovics (1902) and Smith (1927); it was recombined as Discophyllites patens by Spath (1934), Wiedmann (1970) and Rakús (1993).
