Cymbricia was named by Roberts and Jell (1990) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tojo Sepkoski's reference number: 932]. It is not extant. Its type is Cymbricia spinicostata.
It was assigned to Bohemiellidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002).
