Taxonomy
Cassianella gravinaensis was named by Smith (1927). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 8836, Bostwick Inlet, Gravina Island, which is in a Lacian carbonate limestone in the Nehenta Formation of Alaska.
